Naan bread

450g/1 lb strong bread flour
½ tsp sugar
½ tsp salt
60ml/2 fl.oz natural yogurt
1 sachet dried yeast
¾ cup lukewarm water
Clarified butter

  1.  Dissolve the yeast in some lukewarm water
  2. Warm the flour in the microwave
  3.  Put the flour, salt and sugar in a large bowl
  4.  Mix well
  5.   Add the yogurt and yeast mixture
  6.  Mix well
  7.  Knead till it becomes a soft, sticky dough
  8.  Leave to stand covered for 3-4 hours
  9.  With oiled hands, knead the dough a little more
  10.  Divide it into 6 pieces
  11.  Roll each ball in more flour to make it easier to work
  12.  Roll each one out to a large rectangle about ¼“ thick
  13.  Lightly moisten the hands to lay naan on baking sheets
  14.  Bake in the oven pre-heated to maximum for 3 – 4 minutes or fry in a very hot frying pan
  15.  Naans should be puffed up
  16.  Remove from oven
  17.  Brush each naan with clarified butter to serve
